Our Cairns Office

Integrated Valuation Services Cairns Pty Ltd was incorporated and our permanent Cairns Office established in 2013, as a response to increasing demand for our services in North and Western Queensland. Managing Director of IVS, Ross Copland, has been a Registered Valuer in Queensland since 2000 and has been practicing valuations of remote pastoral stations in the state since this time. IVS have been providing larger commercial and rural valuation services in Queensland from our other valuation offices for many years. In 2009 / 2010 IVS provided various residential valuations in Townsville and North Queensland as part of a panel agreement with the National Australia Bank Limited. IVS have been carrying out market research both on and off site for the Cairns locality for a number of years, and more intensely since 2012.

Our Cairns Valuers are skilled valuers with experience in providing valuations of a wide array of property types, and we have been conducting valuations for various purposes within most parts of Far North Queensland since being established in Cairns.

Background

Our History

Cairns is the most northern located city in Queensland located approximately 1,700kms by road north of Brisbane. Cairns is located within close proximity to the Great Barrier Reef and has a significant tourism industry being a popular destination for domestic and international travellers. Other surrounding natural tourist attractions include the Daintree Rainforest, Atherton Tablelands, Crater Lakes, and Northern Beaches to Port Douglas. The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and the Wet Tropics Rainforest are both World Heritage listed.
The Cairns airport has a domestic and international terminal, and is listed as the 7th largest airport in Australia with over 4.25 million passengers (excl. transit passengers) arriving in the year ending June 2014. Trends for passenger numbers over the past few years has been increasing through the domestic terminal, but falling passenger numbers through the international terminal.

The local Government area is the Cairns Regional Council which extends from Babinda to the south up to Palm Cove to the north. The Cairns Regional Council covers an area of 1,689 square kilometres and in 2012 there was an official estimated (adjusted) resident population of 156,654.

The tourism industry is significant in Cairns and has a flow on effect to other service-based industries. Transport, Postal and Warehousing; Accommodation and Food Services; and Health Care and Social Assistance Industries make up a high proportion of total production in the local economy.

    Daniel Ackroyd is an Associate Member of the Australian Property Institute. Daniel has a Bachelor of Business (Property); is a Certified Practising Valuer of Property (CPV) and a Certified Practising Valuer of Business (CPV Bus). Daniel is a Registered Valuer in Queensland. Daniel Ackroyd practices in the field of commercial, residential and industrial property market sectors and has had wide-ranging experience in valuing all such properties in remote and regional centres.

    Certified Practising Valuer (Property & Business) Certified Property Professional, Licensed Valuer (WA) Registered Valuer (QLD); Managing Director

    Ross Copland is a Fellow Member of the Australian Property Institute. Ross has a Bachelor of Commerce (Rural Valuation-Farm Management); is a Certified Practising Valuer of Property (CPV); a Certified Practising Valuer of Business (CPV Bus); and is a Certified Property Practitioner (CPP). Ross has been a Registered Valuer in Queensland since 2000 and a Licensed Valuer in Western Australia since 1998. Ross  specialises in valuations of agricultural properties, in particular large Cattle Stations. Ross also specialises in all forms of remote property valuations.
